Creative writing tutor Dr Midge Gillies in conversation with Andrew Kenrick, Joy Mcalpine-Black and Jane Rogoyska in this free Zoom event on Thursday 23rd July 2026, 7-8pm, UK time.
Midge will be talking about the special pleasures and perils of biography with three authors whose books cover a wide range of life writing.
Jane Rogoyska’s new book, Hotel Exile: Paris in the Shadow of War (Allen Lane) is about what happens on the edges of a war. At its heart are three groups of people connected to a place, to one another, and to the dark ideology which dictates the course of their lives. The book was shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction.
Andrew and Jane both teach creative non-fiction for PACE.
